Dinosaur!

The coolest pop up book EVER! Hannah and Emma love this book about dinosaurs ("Dinosaurs" by Robert Sabuda & Matthew Reinhart) because each page has multiple pop ups and they're so intricate. Thanks Auntie Ann!

Meanwhile, in potty training land...

Emma is making progress. She wears big girl undies all the time, unless she's sleeping. I'm not ready for wet beds yet. We still have occasional accidents, but she's doing so much better!

Emma looks exactly like Ryan in that picture! I've seen that book, but I wouldn't dare get it with my boys. It would be in shreds.

I had some pop-up books just like that as a kid and I can attest to the fact that they really foster creativity in a kid. I just love the picture of Emma in the potty by what looks like the front door! When Julia was potty-training she had the same potty and it ended up in our living room, on our deck, etc. Hey whatever works, right? :)

How old is Emma now? We are trying to potty train Colin but are finding that it's harder unless we bribe him - big time. Any advice??

So funny that you all say Emma looks like Ryan! Whenever we go out, people stop us to say, "She (Hannah) looks like Dad and she (Emma) looks like Mom." ALWAYS. Now, to us, they look like a nice mixture of the two of us, but it's fun to hear what other people see.

And yes, Cailean, the potty's in front of the front door. It goes all over because she hates to be away from the action, stuck in a bathroom.

Mari, we're not above bribing. Candy, toys, charts we've tried it all. Emma will be 3 in a few months and until the past week or so, no bribe has worked. We do find that allowing her to look at a book or play with a toy while sitting on the potty helps keep her there longer. Then, hopefully, she's there long enough to take care of business.
